A message from the Founder: Since 2014, my family and I have proudly called Waxhaw home. We are blessed with two beautiful children on Earth and one in heaven. I’m Ashley Redden—a wife, mother of two, former nurse, CPR instructor, and the founder of Spirited Sprout, LLC, established in 2020. What began as a sensory-based activity center has grown into something much deeper: a family learning studio designed to support children and families through enrichment, connection, and community. Over the years, my husband, Brad, has become an essential part of this journey. Together, we are building a space that reflects not only our values but also our lived experience as parents and community members. My journey as  a mother, nurse  and educator has deeply shaped the heart of Spirited Sprout. Our firstborn’s neurodivergence was a pivotal moment in our family’s story and opened our eyes to the beauty and complexity of different neurotypes. As a family, we have learned to better understand how we think, learn, connect, and experience the world. This discovery has helped us evolve not only as parents but also as educators and creators of spaces where children are truly seen. We are passionate advocates for neurodiversity, and this commitment is woven into everything we do—both within Spirited Sprout and in the broader community we serve. Spirited Sprout was born from a desire to create an inclusive, sensory-informed environment where every child—no matter their abilities—can feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves.
Over time, that mission has expanded.
Today, Spirited Sprout is a family learning studio offering:
• Growth Grove a micro-school inspired educational enrichment
• Drop-off learning experiences and story-based adventures
• Pop-Up Play and community events
• Seasonal gatherings and family traditions
• Birthday celebrations
• CPR and family safety education

We also continue to host beloved seasonal experiences, including our intimate Easter, New Year and Santa events, which have become meaningful traditions for many of our families.  With a background in brain development and human biology, my experience as a psychiatric nurse (with a deep love of neurodevelopment) shaped my understanding of how deeply sensory integration impacts development and regulation. After sustaining a traumatic brain injury at work and completing over a year of vestibular, speech, and occupational therapy, I experienced firsthand the power of therapeutic sensory support and neuroplasticity. That season of life, combined with my child’s neurodivergence, transformed pain into purpose. It became clear that I was meant to help create spaces where children and families could experience healing, connection, and growth through meaningful, play-based learning. Sensory experiences, movement, creativity, and connection are not extras in childhood—they are essential. As a mother, I’ve seen how children thrive when they are given space to move, create, explore, and connect with others in meaningful ways that make sense to them. Too often, these needs are overlooked in traditional environments. Spirited Sprout exists to change that.
Spirited Sprout is more than a business—it is a growing community built on the belief that children and families deserve spaces where they feel connected, supported, and inspired.
